A veces pienso en aquella lista sobre la mesa y en la mujer que la miró creyendo todavía que debía soportarlo todo para merecer el título de esposa.

Quisiera abrazarla y decirle que no era débil por aguantar tanto.

Solo estaba atrapada en una mentira muy bien decorada.

Cruel fue pedirle a una mujer agotada que cocinara para cincuenta personas mientras la despojaban de toda dignidad.

Cruel fue ver a tu esposa romperse y pedirle que sonriera mejor.

Cruel fue convertir el amor en trabajo no pagado y el matrimonio en obediencia.

Yo no destruí una familia perfecta.

Solo me negué a seguir sosteniendo una mentira.
