El abuso empieza mucho antes del primer despojo visible.

Empieza cuando alguien convence a otro de que debe agradecer migajas, soportar humillaciones y aceptar miedo a cambio de amor.

A veces sigo pensando en el semáforo donde la vi por primera vez convertida en una sombra de sí misma.

Pienso en la rapidez con que contamos monedas cuando sentimos que la vida se nos escapa de las manos.

Pienso también en lo cerca que estuvo todo de salirle bien a Iván solo porque supo explotar la vergüenza de una mujer buena.

Y me pregunto cuál fue la mayor señal de alarma: si el primer papel que él le hizo firmar sin leer, el primer insulto disfrazado de consejo por parte de Teresa, o el primer día en que Sofía dejó de llamarme para no preocuparme.

Tal vez el perdón, cuando llega tan tarde, ya no sirve para nada.
