Margaret avait compris que ce mot me blesserait.

Elle avait aussi compris quelque chose que Ryan n’avait jamais imaginé.

Le pouvoir ne consiste pas toujours à parler le plus fort dans un salon, à posséder le dossier posé sur la table ou à donner quarante-huit heures à quelqu’un pour disparaître.

Parfois, le véritable pouvoir est un acte signé deux ans plus tôt, rangé dans une enveloppe que personne ne pense à chercher.

Et parfois, la personne qui sort sans discuter n’est pas celle qui vient de perdre.

C’est simplement celle qui n’a pas encore ouvert son enveloppe.
